Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to troop the Orlando Science Center for the opening of the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit. The 10,000 square foot exhibit showcases props, costumes and other tech related to all six of the Star Wars films. Developed by the Museum of Science, Boston alongside Lucasfilm LTD., the goal is to teach visitors about the Star Wars movies, the technology depicted in them, the real science behind them and the current research in trying tomake some of it a reality.

Both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance were well represented for three days of non-stop trooping fun.

Daniel Logan (Boba Fett, Star Wars Episode II and Star Wars the Clone Wars) was on hand each day to sign autographs, answer questions and take pictures with attendees.

One trooper relayed a story to me about how Daniel Logan asked a one of our stormtroopers to stand next to one of the movie stormtrooper costumes. He was surprised at how much better ours looked compared to what was actually on display. I’m sure that made that trooper feel good about all the work he put into his build.

Everyone had a blast hanging out with the guests and playing with the interactive displays throughout the exhibit as well as wondering into other areas of the Science Center (did you know jawas know how to play chess?).

The Orlando Science center is hosting Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination thru April 7th, 2013. Check out our Facebook page to learn more about when we will be on hand to help bring more people to the dark side.

Tickets are $27 for adults and $20 for ages three to eleven. For more information about purchasing and discounts for seniors and students, head over to OSC website.
